Encouraging Innovations in Tax Administrations to Meet Tomorrow's Challenges

IOTA workshop on Encouraging Innovations in Tax Administrations to Meet Tomorrow's Challenges was held on 16-18 in September 2015 in Yerevan, Armenia hosted by the Ministry of Finance of Armenia. Participants have exchanged views and experience on how to create organisation culture that empowers people to innovate and how to transform innovation into practice.

The workshop brought together 28 participants, senior officials of tax administrations in charge of strategy, change management and innovation from 18 countries to discuss issues related to creating an innovation culture. 

The event was hosted by the Ministry of Finance of Armenia. It was a participative workshop were delegates took an active role in both the plenary and discussion group sessions. Presentations successfully illustrated working methods, obstacles and best practices. In the group discussions the participants reflected on their own experiences, discussing problems and solutions on the issues of how tax administrations encourage employees to engage with change processes, how to unlock the creative potential of employees and how to capture great ideas and turn them into practice.

Participants have been greatly satisfied with the event which is underlined by the fact that they have expressed their wish that IOTA follow up on some of issues emerged during workshop. Delegates have found the workshop especially useful as it gave floor for exploring the diversity of experiences in encouraging innovations of different tax administrations.
