The workshop on the Role of the Media in Building Trust between Taxpayers and Tax Authorities took place in Budapest, Hungary, 18-20 March 2015.
This latest workshop was attended by 44 delegates from 29 IOTA member countries. The specific aim of the workshop was to identify and share best practice approaches to dealing with the Media and how it supported tax administrations communication strategies in building taxpayer’s trust in tax administration to positively influence compliance behaviour. In a series of presentations and discussions the delegates considered the impacts on tax administrations and taxpayers resulting from both positive and negative Media publicity and how this could influence taxpayer’s compliance behaviour.
