Registration is now open for the first e-course of the Virtual Training to Advance Revenue Administration (VITARA), a joint initiative of four international organisations: the Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT), the Intra-European Organisation of Tax Administrations (IOTA), the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

VITARA was launched in 2020 to develop a highly effective, globally accessible, on-demand online training curriculum on revenue administration issues. It complements the four founding organisations' capacity development and training efforts. The VITARA curriculum consists of two parts; Part A contains training modules related to institutional governance, management, and support; and Part B contains training modules related to core functions of tax administration.

The first VITARA e-learning module on Strategic Management is going to be officially launched at the 25th General Assembly of IOTA on 1st July 2021. Registration for the module is open until 11th July 2021 via the IMF website. This is an introductory-level module providing fundamental knowledge on the concepts related to the strategic management of a tax administration.
