Representatives of the Swiss IOTA Presidency paid an official visit to the IOTA Secretariat in Budapest, Hungary on 16th March 2022.
The 25th IOTA General Assembly appointed the Swiss Federal Tax Administration as the next Presidency of IOTA for the current period 2021/2022, with Mr. Marc Bugnon becoming the new President of IOTA for this one-year term. During 29th and 30th June 2022, the 26th IOTA General Assembly will be held in Zürich under the Swiss Presidency.

Erika has been dedicated to communication and journalism for over a decade. At the early stage of her career, she worked as a Newscaster at a local radio station and then switched to work as a Communication Specialist managing the communication of international pharmaceutical companies. She began to take a deeper interest in business, economy, and international issues a few years ago when she took on a business reporter/editorial job at the most prevalent economic radio station in Budapest, Hungary that highlighted these matters.
The State Revenue Service of Latvia (SRS) announces that it has made efforts to simplify procedures for foreign tax administrations to verify the legitimacy of taxpayers’ tax claims in Latvia and to prevent double taxation. The tax administration of any country that has signed a Tax Agreement with the Republic of Latvia for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and Prevention of Fiscal Evasion can simply check the Certificate of Residence issued to the taxpayer by SRS by clicking on the link to the SRS website and entering the verification code and the taxpayer’s code
On 16th February the Forum of SMEs and the Forum of Self-Employed have been set up.
On 26 January 2022, IOTA and OECD virtually co-hosted a Regional Consultation on BEPS for Eurasia addressing the tax challenges of digitalisation which provided updates on the progress made on the development of the measures under Pillar One and Two, as well as on the capacity-building and bespoke technical assistance programmes available to support the implementation of these measures.
