The President is the Head of Tax Administration of the country that fulfills the chairmanship of IOTA for one year, also presiding over the Executive Council and hosting the next General Assembly. The President holds office from the conclusion of the General Assembly when he/she is appointed until the conclusion of the next General Assembly. The President’s main tasks are to preside over the General Assembly, to call and preside over the meetings of the Executive Council, and to represent the Organisation.
IOTA's current Presidency for 2026/2027 is held by the Public Revenue Office of North Macedonia (PRO), appointed Ms Elena Petrova, the Director General of PRO, as the President of IOTA.
The appointments of the Republic of North Macedonia for the 2026/2027 Presidency and of Armenia for 2027/2028 were accepted at the 29th General Assembly of IOTA in Baku, Azerbaijan.
