IOTA Observers

What is an IOTA Observer?

Article 8.1 of IOTA Charter:

International organisations, non-governmental organisations, academia, and regional or global private sector legal entities …, who have an interest in the specific activities of the Organisation, can apply to become an Observer.”

Article 8.4 of IOTA Charter:

Observers are entitled to participate in the technical session of the General Assembly and in the Annual International Conference of the Organisation or another international conference organised by the Organisation jointly with its partner(s).

What are the benefits of becoming an IOTA Observer?

  • Observer can participate with a maximum of 5 participants at a technical session of the General Assembly and in the Annual International Conference.
  • Participation in social events is included, as well as participation in an exhibition, if applicable.
  • IOTA will provide the stage time at an IOTA event for Observers if proposed presentation is in line with topic and agenda of the respective IOTA event.
  • IOTA Secretariat also may reach out to Observers to make a presentation at certain technical events that are restricted to IOTA members.
