The Intra-European Organisation of Tax Administrations (IOTA) is organising the 7th Annual International Conference, taking place on 29-30 October 2026 in Budapest, Hungary.
This year’s Conference “Cybersecurity and Data Protection in Tax Administrations” will focus on the strategic and operational governance frameworks safeguarding critical data and infrastructures.
Bringing together commissioners and senior officials from tax administrations, representatives of international organisations, academia, technology providers, and business leaders, the event will provide a high-level platform for discussing how tax administrations can strengthen cyber resilience, enhance data-protection governance and maintain public trust while advancing digital transformation.
Over one and a half days, participants will explore key areas including:
- cybersecurity and data-protection strategies and policy frameworks;
- leadership, accountability and governance arrangements;
- operational preparedness, incident response and recovery;
- workforce capabilities, training and cyber-awareness culture;
- technological solutions supporting secure and resilient tax systems; and
- future risks, opportunities and priorities for international cooperation.
This Conference programme will combine keynote addresses, plenary discussions, fireside chats, practical case studies, interactive exercises and parallel sessions.
