2nd Eastern Europe and Central Asia Regional Network Meeting on BEPS
A second regional consultation on Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) for Eastern Europe and Central Asia is organised by OECD in Tbilisi (Georgia) on 21 October 2015, kindly hosted by the Georgian Ministry of Finance and the Georgia Revenue Service, and in close collaboration with IOTA.
The purpose of this second round of consultation is to provide countries in the region with an opportunity to input into the development of mechanisms to implement - individually and/or collectively - solutions to tackle BEPS, in order to strengthen their national tax systems.
The agenda covers the 2015 outputs of the OECD/G20 BEPS Project, with a focus on outputs that reflect the contributions of countries from Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Participants will also discuss the key challenges and opportunities related to the implementation of the different action items of the BEPS Project, approaches on strengthening capacity building and the development of toolkits for developing countries.
The Regional meeting takes place on 21 October and it brings together senior level representatives of finance ministries and tax administrations from Eastern Europe and Central Asia, representatives from regional and international organisations active in Eastern Europe and Central Asia and local stakeholders from business, labour, academia and civil society.
It will then be followed by a two-day Governmental Workshop (22-23 October) which will build on the discussions of the day before.
