32nd Forum of the IOTA Principal Contact Persons in Montreux, Switzerland

On 1-2 April 2025, IOTA had the pleasure of organising the 32nd Forum of IOTA Principal Contact Persons (PCPs) in collaboration with the Swiss Federal Tax Administration in Montreux, Switzerland. This year’s PCP Forum primarily focused on the roles and challenges faced by IOTA PCPs, as well as reviewing proposals from the Strategy and Charter Review Working Group and the Financial Advisory Committee. The event was attended by 55 tax officials from 39 IOTA member tax administrations.

The event began with a welcoming address by Alix Perrignon de Troyes, Executive Secretary of IOTA, who outlined the agenda and objectives for the Forum.

During the first day, new guidelines for "ABC for PCPs" were discussed, diving into the roles and challenges of the IOTA Principal Contact Persons. Feedback on challenges faced by PCPs was also collected through pre-event registration forms. In an interactive "Open Space on ABC for PCPs" session, participants engaged in a "Four Corners" talk, allowing them to choose topics of interest to discuss openly.

Subsequent sessions featured members of the Strategy Review Working Group and Charter Review Working Group presenting their proposals for consideration by the plenary. After these presentations, the PCPs reflected on the proposals in breakout meeting rooms. Participants also heard financial proposals from the Financial Advisory Committee (FAC) and had the opportunity to discuss these proposals in breakout rooms.

On the second day, the PCPs received updates on the IOTA HR Strategy, the recruitment process for International Experts, and the latest updates related to the IOTA Web Portal. They also learned about preparations for the upcoming 29th General Assembly in Baku, Azerbaijan, including drafts of both the Administrative and Technical Agendas, a Call for Speakers, and details about the IOTA Exhibition.

The event concluded with an interactive session that provided participants with a valuable platform to raise questions and discuss important topics, ensuring their expectations were met. IOTA is grateful to the Swiss Team for some incredible hosting in the beautiful city of Montreux. All materials, presentations, and a photo gallery from the event are now available online on the event’s webpage.
