Azerbaijani Presidency Visits the IOTA Secretariat
We are pleased to announce that the IOTA Secretariat had the pleasure of welcoming the representatives of the Azerbaijani IOTA Presidency on October 1st, 2024, in Budapest, Hungary. During the official visit, Mr Orkhan Nazarli, Head of the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and IOTA President, along with his delegation, had a fruitful meeting with Alix Perrignon de Troyes, Executive Secretary of IOTA, and representatives of the IOTA Secretariat’s Management, including the Strategy and Institutional Development Manager Roman Bichevoy and the Manager of Business Administration and Finance László Muzslay.
Mrs Alix Perrignon de Troyes, Executive Secretary of IOTA, provided an overview of IOTA, which serves as a unique platform in the field of global taxation, and informed the delegates about IOTA's collaborations with other international organisations including the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Directorate-General for Taxation and Customs Union, European Commission (DG-TAXUD), Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the Network of Tax Administrations (NTO).
During the meeting, future joint activities and the priorities of the upcoming 29th General Assembly of IOTA were discussed, and the parties set the stage for the 149th Executive Council Meeting, which took place after the official visit of the Presidency. The visit of the Azerbaijani Presidency to the IOTA Secretariat demonstrates the power of collaboration and partnership between the two sides. Mr Orkhan Nazarli expressed gratitude to the members of the IOTA Secretariat for their work and professionalism and wished for the successful continuation of the fruitful collaboration.
The State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan was appointed as the next Presidency of IOTA for the period 2024/2025 during the 28th General Assembly in Budapest, Hungary. Orkhan Nazarli, Head of the State Tax Service of Azerbaijan, serves as the new President of IOTA for the one-year term. The State Tax Service of Azerbaijan has been a full member of IOTA since 2002.
