Communique on behalf of the Executive Council of IOTA on the Conflict in Ukraine

IOTA is a politically neutral forum which supports on-going collaboration to strengthen cooperation between member tax administrations (article 2 of the Charter).

The current conflict taking place across the IOTA region, impacting our IOTA members, prevents this aim.

In this context and to maintain a trustworthy, effective collaboration and partnership between IOTA members, the Executive Council at its extraordinary meeting held on Wednesday 9^th of March 2022 decided to immediately suspend the participation of Russia and Belarus in all administrative and technical activities of IOTA until further notice. Our members conveyed in writing their strength of feeling on this decision and it was an overwhelming agreement.
