Human Resources are the most important assets of tax administrations - Tax Man’s Day in Lithuania

IOTA’s Executive Secretary addressed the International Conference of the State Tax Inspectorate (STI) of Lithuania “Pathway of the Lithuanian Tax Administration: History, Facts and Values”, which was held on the 1st October 2018 and celebrated the Tax Man’s Day in Lithuania.

Ms. Edita Janusiene, the Head of the STI opened the Conference highlighting the key role of the staff of the STI for the accomplishment of the mission of the tax administration. She said that in order to achieve its goals, an organisation should always consider the concerns and expectations of the personnel and sustain its essential values.

Miguel Silva Pinto, IOTA’s Executive Secretary delivered a presentation on the important contribution Lithuania has been given as a founding member of IOTA. He stressed the role of Lithuania as holding the Presidency of IOTA in 1997/1998 and 10 mandates as a member of the Executive Council of the organisation, including the present term.

The Executive Secretary presented the deliveries IOTA offers to its members, namely an inclusive and flexible working programme, answering the needs of the membership. He invited the participants to visit IOTA’s website, where important material for the daily work of tax officials in IOTA membership can be found.
