Phishing messages using IOTA’s name

We are aware that individuals in different countries have received messages claiming to be from IOTA that are requests for payment of money in connection with registration of foreign nationals in the financial system of the European Union.

These messages are scam messages and are not from IOTA. If you receive a message like to one below, do not click on any links or reply to the message and report the message to the relevant authorities in your home country.

Remember that IOTA is not responsible for any taxes or collection of money that may relate to any tax, or similar, obligations. We will also never threaten legal action for failure to pay any form of tax or other national obligations and we will never threaten to arrest somebody for failure to comply with any obligations.
