Promoting IOTA on a global scale

The ‘Tax and Development’ global conference was held in Berlin on 14-16 June, 2017 organised by International Tax Compact and sponsored by the German Economic Cooperation and Development Ministry, the European Commission and the Foreign Ministry of the Netherlands. Conference gave all stakeholders opportunity to connect to each other in interactive sessions such as Market Place, Open Space. IOTA took an active role in presenting the organisation. 

The conference was evolved around the Addis Tax Initiative (ATI), a multi-stakeholder partnership in capacity building in the area of domestic resource mobilisation. The event brought together representatives from developing countries, donor states and organisations as well as experts, academics and civil society representatives. More than 150 participants including more than 40 organisations/institutions such as EU, United Nations, Worldbank, OECD, IMF took part in the event. All regional tax organisations (ATAIC, ATAF, CATA, CIAT, CREDAF, WATAF) have also been present there.

IOTA, represented by Ágnes Kővágó, Communications Specialist was very active in all interactive sessions, including presenting the organisation with a stand in Market Place session. The stand of IOTA with the latest publications and information attracted a lot of visitors whom gained deeper knowledge about the activities of IOTA. Among others, the stand was visited by (see on photos from left to the right): Mr Yuji Miyaki Taxation Specialist of Asian Development Bank (ADB), by Prof. Jan de Goede and Mr Carlos Guiterrez Principal Research Associate from IBFD, Mr Logan Wort, Executive Secretary of ATAF, Ms Cinzia Castelli from the Italian Revenue Agency, Mr Diallo Ismaila, Deputy Secretary General of CREDAF and Mr Rick Mcdonell, Project Director from Vienna University. Several other representatives of international organisations and delegations from UK, Canada, Georgia, Paraguay, Kenya, Mozambique, Myanmar, Uganda also took the opportunity to get to know more about IOTA.
