IOTA is pleased to announce that the IOTA Presidency, represented by Mr Ferenc Vágujhelyi, President of IOTA, and Mr Kristóf Péter Bakai, Brigadier General of the National Tax and Customs Administration (NTCA), accompanied by Ms Ivana Donchevska, International Taxation Expert of IOTA from the Secretariat undertook a series of productive visits to tax authorities of Montenegro and Albania between March 26-27, 2024. The delegation's primary objective was to enhance engagement with IOTA's member organisations and strengthen the capabilities of tax administrations through collaborative initiatives.

On March 26, the esteemed representatives from IOTA visited the Tax Administration of Montenegro, where they were warmly welcomed by Mr Sava Laketić, the Director of the Tax Administration, along with key officials including Ms Lidija Sechkovic, Ms Biljana Jelic, and Ms Svetlana Radusinovic. The delegation introduced IOTA's diverse portfolio, highlighted ongoing activities, and underscored the organisation's inherent strengths and benefits. Mr Laketić commended the existing cooperation with IOTA and expressed keen interest in further deepening collaboration by leveraging additional services provided by the organisation.

Continuing their engagements on March 27, the IOTA delegation visited the General Directorate of Taxation in Albania, where they met with Mr Ceno Klosi, the General Director, accompanied by other high-ranking representatives such as Ms Diana Caro, Ms Rezana Celmeta, and Mr Imir Kraja. Following a detailed presentation on IOTA's operational activities, discussions centred on ongoing projects within the tax administration domain and explored avenues for enhanced cooperation through the exchange of knowledge and best practices in taxation.

Heartfelt appreciation is extended to both the Tax Administration of Montenegro and the General Directorate of Taxation of Albania for their warm hospitality and collaborative spirit. Looking ahead, we eagerly anticipate the participation of these esteemed organisations in upcoming IOTA events, further fostering a culture of shared learning and growth within the international tax community.
