The full VITARA Portfolio, including these Microlearning videos, along with the Course Overview and FAQ document, is now accessible on the dedicated VITARA e-learning page of the IOTA web portal.

As part of the VITARA portfolio, registrations for the new modules on Taxpayer Registration (TPR) and Spanish and French Compliance Risk Management (CRM) are now open. The registration deadlines are May 13 and August 31, 2025, respectively. To enroll in these online training courses, please navigate to the official training pages on the International Monetary Fund (IMF) website for VITARA-TPR and VITARA-CRM in French and Spanish.

The VITARA-TPR short course aims to deepen understanding of the taxpayer registration function within tax administrations. It focuses on the vital role of taxpayer registration in achieving compliance with filing, reporting, and payment obligations. Additionally, the course examines the key features of a high-integrity, purpose-fit, sustainable taxpayer register, underscoring its importance for effective tax administration.

The VITARA-CRM course offers foundational knowledge on compliance risk management (CRM) concepts and their application in tax administrations. Furthermore, it illustrates how CRM facilitates tax administrations in fulfilling their primary objective of managing and enhancing taxpayer compliance. The course covers essential organisational, governance, and management frameworks required for effective CRM, the significance of data for CRM purposes, and the various strategies and techniques tax administrations implement to optimize taxpayer compliance.

VITARA stands for Virtual Training to Advance Revenue Administration and is a joint initiative of four organisations, Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT), Intra-European Organisation of Tax Administrations (IOTA), International Monetary Fund (IMF), and Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). It was launched in 2020 to develop a highly effective, globally accessible, on-demand, and free online curriculum on revenue administrative issues. The VITARA modules are introductory-level modules designed for busy professionals who wish to improve their skills in tax administration.
