Establishment of Automated Tax Information System (BV0S) for municipalities in Azerbaijan

Automated Tax Information System for municipalities has recently been introduced in Azerbaijan.

According to Mr. Natig Shirinov, Head of Main Department of Tax Policy and Strategic Research of the Ministry of Taxes of Republic of Azerbaijan, a pilot project on use of Automated Tax Information System (BVİS) for municipalities has recently been introduced. The new system is expected to enhance tax collection efficiency and record keeping accuracy. Among other functions, BVIS allows e-clerical work, e-payment of taxes and electronic submission of tax declarations. Natural and legal persons, who have potential tax liability to municipalities, can register their property using BVİS and receive a registration certificate. The implementation of project has started in May 2014 and the results achieved so far are quite promising.
