Job Openings at IOTA for Seconded Tax Officials from Member Administrations

The IOTA Secretariat is actively seeking experienced professionals to join a dynamic, multicultural, and interdisciplinary team of enthusiastic experts. This team supports IOTA's mission and the execution of its annual work programme, which covers various topics relevant to tax administration operations. Currently, there are two open positions (both for secondment) available at our Budapest-based office:
1. International Expert on Tax Debt Management (SECONDMENT POST)
The successful candidate must come from an IOTA member tax administration and possess experience and expertise in tax debt collection and/or enforcement strategies, as well as the optimisation of debt management procedures for various taxes. Under the direction of the IOTA Secretariat and as a member of the international expert team, the applicant will facilitate knowledge sharing and the exchange of best practices on a range of tax administration issues. Additionally, they will ensure the effective delivery of the annual IOTA Work Programme Activities. The selected candidate will report directly to the IOTA Work Programme Manager and the Executive Secretary of IOTA.
2. International Expert (SECONDMENT POST)
The successful applicant must also come from an IOTA member tax administration and be capable of addressing relevant areas and topics concerning tax administration operations. These include tax compliance, e-services, quality of taxpayer services, information and communication technology (ICT), new technological solutions, and administrative capacity. The candidate should have expertise in capacity building, enabling them to prepare and deliver both in person and online technical events for tax officials. They will also facilitate the work of steering and working groups and co-organise joint activities with IOTA’s international partner organisations, such as the OECD, European Commission, CIAT, NTO, IBFD, and the Vienna University.
These exciting opportunities will involve the successful applicants being seconded to IOTA, where they will work from our Budapest office in Hungary.
