Personal data protection

On 29–30 October 2026, IOTA held its 7^th Annual International Conference in Budapest, Hungary, under the theme “Cybersecurity and Data Protection in Tax Administrations.” Hosted at the Anantara New York Palace Budapest Hotel, the Conference brought together in person over 90 participants and over 60 online attendees, representing  26 IOTA member tax administrations and non-members (Turkey), international partner organisations such as the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre, EUROPOL, the International Monetary Fund, the OECD Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes, tax technology providers and academia to exchange experiences and explore approaches to strengthening cybersecurity, protecting sensitive taxpayer information and building resilient digital tax systems.

The Technical Session of this keynote event will be held on 19-20 June 2024 in Budapest, Hungary, and will explore new opportunities, insights, and solutions to embrace data science, leverage its full potential, and build capacity and capabilities in tax administrations.
