The Ministry for Finance and Public Function, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Education and Sports, the National Institute for Public Administration, the Inter-American Development Bank, the European Commission and the United Nations organized an international conference on Interoperability and e-archive in Madrid on 26 September. The objective of the conference was to share experiences in the implementation of interoperability and, more specifically, on the preservation of digital assets.

The conference was opened by Mr. Domingo Molina, Secretary General for E-Government and former Director of the Information Technologies Directorate in the Spanish Tax Agency.

Mr. Molina highlighted the efforts of the Spanish State Tax Administration in collaboration with international organizations in order to promote and improve electronic government in Spain. He also pointed out the relevance of this Conference to bring together representatives of the public and private sector and from international institutions to work aligned in the challenging field of the digital preservation of the information, since a tight collaboration is required between public and private sectors to succeed in the digital transformation process.

The conference has contributed to the debate on this issue through several round tables on single E-Archive, interoperability and e-archive in the private sector and services for digital transformation in the electronic document.
