IOTA workshop ’Transparency and Personalisation in the Delivery of e-Services: Online Taxpayer Account’ was held on 22-24 February 2017 in Budapest. 43 participants from 24 IOTA member countries discussed how tax administrations have developed simple, personalised and secure online tax accounts.

Participants exchanged experience in modernisation of tax systems where tax returns are replaced by digital tax accounts by listening to the presentations of Albania, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Portugal and Spain. This was followed by group discussions where –among others- delegates exchanged views and experience how to move from classical communication channels and services to the online environment and how to prepare taxpayers to use online taxpayer accounts. Opportunities and challenges for both taxpayers and tax administrations in terms of making tax data “real-time” were also highlighted during discussions.

Further information about the workshop, including all presentations is available for IOTA members here.
